The 12th annual African-American Celebration will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at the Herb Young Community Center, 101 Wilkinson Ave. in Cary. This year's theme is "Front and Center: Empowering Young Minds" and will focus on gang and youth violence, leadership, self-knowledge and community involvement. The program will include dancer Jordan Barlow; Congolese drummer Pline Mounzeo; singer/songwriter Lois Deloatch; and jazz artist Abdullah Rahman.
