CHARLIE CHIKLIS MEMORIAL
Charlie Chiklis and the Moonlighters will perform a free concert at Cary's Herbert C. Young Community Center, 101 Wilkinson Ave., at 7:30 p.m. There is no entrance fee. But donations will be collected at the door in memory of Charlie Chiklis, founder of the Moonlighters, who died last August. Proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society. READERS' THEATER PLAY
The N.C. Museum of History will present a readers' theater play written by award-winning poet and playwright Rudy Wallace. The play - "Sacred Fire: Phillis Wheatley and Her Friends" - tells the story of the nation's first published African American poet. The dramatization, performed by the Raleigh theater company Voices in Concert, runs from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and free for ages 12 and under. The Cary Gallery of Artists announces a call to artists for its second annual Small Treasures juried show March 26 to April 24 to be judged by artist Luana Winner. SCULPTURE EXHIBITION
Cary Visual Art is inviting artists to apply for its 2010 Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition. Sculptors from across the nation participate in the exhibition. This year's exhibition will be held Aug. 13 to June 24, 2011. Ten finalists will be selected for installation on the town hall campus and throughout downtown Cary. Each finalist whose works is installed will receive a $1,000 honorarium. The juror, Glen Weiss, manager of public art and design for the Times Square Alliance, will choose the ten finalists and the best-in-show prize of $5,000. TEEN POETRY CONTEST
