School Notes: March 3

APEX ELEMENTARY

Got Books? Apex Elementary will take them for a children's book drive March 8-13.

Bring gently read children's books to Apex Elementary, 700 Tingen Road. Look for the book drive bins in the school office and outside the school library.

A carpool drop off will also be available during the book drive.

APEX HIGH

Seniors Daniel Swartz and Gary Meyer placed first and third, respectively, at the Wake County PTA Council's Reflections program in December.

The PTSA will recognize all participants of this year's Reflections program and present awards for winning entries at a reception at 7 p.m. Monday in the Media Center. Doors will open at 6:45 to view the entries and to meet the student artists.

MIDDLE CREEK HIGH

Middle Creek High School will collect materials from March 8 to 18 to be sent to deployed service members in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Youngsville chapter of Blue Star Mothers and students in the National Honor Society will help pack the boxes on March 19.

The Blue Star Mothers will also pay for shipping. Last year eighty boxes were mailed, and organizers hope to send more this year.
