Man charged with habitual DWI

The State Highway Patrol arrested a Durham man Saturday morning and charged him with habitual impaired driving and with traveling 95 mph on Interstate 40 near Airport Boulevard.

Senovio M. Mendoza, 28, has been convicted three times previously for driving while impaired, according to arrest records. He was stopped just before 8 a.m.

Because of his earlier convictions, state troopers seized his vehicle. He refused a breath test.

Mendoza, whose bail was set at $6,000, was charged also with driving with a revoked license and providing false information to an officer.

Vandals strike Fuquay-Varina

Fuquay-Varina police are offering a reward for information on several recent vandalism incidents.

Three separate instances since mid-July have left shops on Main Street and Broad Street in downtown with broken and paint-stained windows.

The most recent incident took place Aug. 18, when vandals broke store windows with B.B. pellets and paintballs, police said.

Police have no leads and are offering rewards for information that leads to a conviction.

Police asked anyone with information to call Capt. Bob Adams at 919-552-1423.
