Wake County residents are teaming up to help an Apex student who was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer.
On Saturday, friends and family of Aaron Mervin, 17, a senior at Apex High School, are holding a fundraiser and bone marrow drive at the Lowe's Foods at Olive Chapel Village in Apex. Mervin, 17, is battling acute myeloid leukemia.
The event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., will include a hot dog sale, a moon-bounce, face painting, a raffle and other activities for children.
All proceeds will go to Mervin's family.
