Holly Springs police searching for suspicious vehicle

Holly Springs police are looking for a white pickup truck after reports of suspicious activity, the town said.

Police are responding to a report from the Sunset Oaks neighborhood Friday afternoon. A 12-year-old girl returning home from school said the unidentified driver of the truck offered her a ride, according to police reports. The girl became frightened and ran home, the town said. The driver left in the opposite direction.

The girl was in the area of Grantwood Drive after getting off the school bus.

Holly Springs officers searched the area for the vehicle in attempt to interview the driver, according to a news release. Officers have not confirmed that any crime was attempted.
