PANTRY DONATES TO AREA SCHOOLS
The Wake County Public School System has received a donation of $10,000 from The Pantry Inc. The donation will provide $1,000 to 10 schools in the district.
The schools in southwest Wake County receiving the donations are Apex High, Green Hope High, Morrisville Elementary, Panther Creek High and Swift Creek Elementary.
MORRISVILLE GARDEN IS SEEKING NEW MEMBERS

APEX MIDDLE STUDENTS TAPPED FOR BAND
Several band students from Apex Middle School were selected for the Wake County All-County Honors Band last fall.
The students, chosen by audition, performed Nov. 18.
Representing Apex Middle School were eighth-graders Emily Beyer, Savannah Dupree and Citlali Rubio on clarinet; Zach Brothers on tuba; Hannah Fraser on flute; Caroline Galdi on tenor saxophone; Ansley Harris on euphonium; Kirk Peterson and Rick Shocket on bassoon; Zohara Scott on alto saxophone; Peter Vermette on French horn; Russell Warner on percussion; and Sam Weaver on trombone.
Also selected for the all-county band from Apex Middle School were seventh-graders Annie Kim on flute and Rowen Von Plagenhoef on clarinet.
BUS TRIP TO CIVIL RIGHTS SITES
The Raleigh, Durham and Charlotte MLK Committees are sponsoring a bus trip April 3-6 to retrace the steps of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and other civil rights leaders. Buses will leave from Raleigh, Durham and Charlotte and make stops in Atlanta; Tuskegee, Selma, Montgomery and Birmingham, Ala.; and Memphis, Tenn.
