EXCHANGE PROGRAM SEEKS TRIANGLE YOUTH
Two to four teenagers from the Triangle will have the opportunity to participate with Iraqi youth in the Iraqi Youth Leadership Exchange Program from July 25 to Aug.19. The local teenagers will join Iraqi youth as they make stops in U.S. cities. Triangle area participants must be American citizens between the ages of 16 and 18, and have leadership skills.

ATHENS DRIVE BAND STUDENTS EARN ALL-DISTRICT POSITIONS
Fourteen Athens Drive High School band students auditioned and earned positions with the 2012 All-District Honors Bands.
The students performed Jan. 28 at Sanderson High School in Raleigh.
The Athens Drive High School All-District Honors Band students were Rachel Knierim and Shuan-Yu Chan on French horn; Matt Burroughs on trumpet, Parker Comella and Darby Teander on alto saxophone; Leah Jamison on oboe; Amith Madavilli and Austin Fishel on snare; Corrine Crowley on bassoon; Brian Holtshouser and Peter Jamison on tenor saxophone; Aaron Park and Mitchell Stokes on clarinet; and Shiv Soneja on euphonium.
EMS ASSOCIATION AWARDS SCHOLARSHIP
Hannah E. Cheek of Apex has received a scholarship from the N.C. Association of Rescue and EMS.
The association's scholarships, based on scholastic achievement, character and potential for future contributions in the state and the nation, are awarded to children of N.C. rescue squad and EMS personnel.
Hannah, the daughter of Kathy Montero and Charles Cheek and stepdaughter of Gabriel Montero, graduated from Apex High School last year and attends UNC-Wilmington, where she plans to study nursing.
