BOY SCOUT BUILDS TRAIL FOR EAGLE
Aaron Lympany of Fuquay-Varina has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement in Boy Scouting.
For his Eagle project, Aaron cleared and marked a half mile of trail at Camp Agape in Harnett County. The trail links the Outpost campground and the camp's archery range and provides access to a historic iron mine.
Aaron, the son of Steve and Laurie Lympany, is a member of Troop 320 and a senior at Fuquay-Varina High School.

The Apex Chamber of Commerce celebrated the Teachers of the Year from public elementary, middle and high schools at its annual "Reuben McNeill Teacher Appreciation" event.

FUQUAY-VARINA SEEKING ARTISTS FOR EN PLEIN AIR PAINT-OFF
Fuquay-Varina Downtown is accepting artists to participate in its En Plein Air paint-off to be held 3-7 p.m. April 13. The four-hour contest of skills will challenge each artist to create an original oil or acrylic painting of Fuquay-Varina downtown's historic landscape. In May, the paintings will be auctioned.
Up to 10 artists, high school age through professional, will be selected to participate. Each artist must submit an online application and send three images of their original work to director@ fuquay- varina downtown.com . The deadline to submit applications is March 9.

APEX ARTS COUNCIL SEEKING ARTISTS
The Apex Arts Council is accepting applications for its Artists for Animals Faire to be held April 21 at Cloer Family Vineyards, 8624 Castleberry Road, Apex.
Half of the proceeds from the event will be donated by the AAC to three animal rescue groups: Carolina Tiger Rescue, Paw Prints Animal Rescue and U.S. Equine Rescue League.
There will be painters selling their work, venues for photographers, sculptors, poets, musicians, authors, dance, independent film, and theater.
Display spaces are $35 each; spaces for friends of the council are $25. Bring your own tents, tables, and display systems for use within the space. Payment is due April 2. To apply, email Bob Crowley at President@ApexArtsCouncil.org.
