FUQUAY-VARINA HIGH SCHOOL

The advanced choral groups at Fuquay-Varina High School will hold a "Broadway" night with dinner, music, entertainment and a silent auction from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at the Fuquay-Varina Methodist Church on Judd Parkway. GREEN HOPE HIGH SCHOOL

Freshman parent seminars for parents of current ninth-grade students will be from 10 a.m. to noon April 20 at the Page-Walker Arts and History Center, 119 Ambassador Loop, Cary. No registration is required and light refreshments will be provided.

The Green Hope High School Athletic Booster Club will hold its annual 5K Fun Run at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25. The race will raise money for athletic clubs. HOLLY GROVE AND HOLLY SPRINGS ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

Harris Teeter has donated a $4,000 incentive award it received for selling a winning ticket for a Carolina Cash 5 jackpot to Holly Springs Elementary and Holly Grove Elementary. Each school will receive $2,000.

The Education Lottery gave the incentive to Harris Teeter after the winning ticket for the Carolina Cash 5 drawing on Jan. 17 was purchased at its South Park Village store in Holly Springs.

Jan Farmer, president of the Holly Springs Elementary PTA, said the association planned to uses its share of the donation to help build a new track at the school. Tracy Edick, president of the Holly Grove Elementary PTA, said the association planned to use its portion to build a rock wall for students.

KOHL'S CARES SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Kohl's Department Stores is accepting nominations for outstanding young volunteers for the 2012 Kohl's Cares Scholarship Program.

Two nominees from each of the more than 1,100 Kohl's stores nationwide will win a $50 Kohl's gift card. More than 200 of the store winners will win regional scholarships worth $1,000 toward post-secondary education. Ten national winners will be awarded a total of $10,000 in scholarships for post-secondary education and Kohl's will donate $1,000 to a nonprofit organization on each national winner's behalf.

Nominations for kids ages 6-18 will be accepted until March 15. Nominators must be at least 21 years old. For details, visit www.kohlskids.com.
