Music Program

A special music program titled “Unplugged,” to celebrate the arts will be at 2 p.m. at the Eva Perry Regional Library, 2100 Shepherd’s Vineyard Drive, Apex. Apex Music and Rock School’s students will present an afternoon of acoustical music. To register, call 919-387-2100.

Hayride and Pumpkin Carving

Enjoy a fall hayride while traveling through to the Longleaf Forest in search of a pumpkin at 2 and 3 p.m. at Harris Lake County Park, 2112 County Park Drive, New Hill. After the hayride, enjoy hot chocolate while carving a pumpkin. Cost is $10 per family with a pumpkin or $5 per family for just the hayride. Registration is required. Grant Writing Workshop

Advocates for Health in Action will hold its next Brains and Bodies Workshop titled, “Show Me the Money: Grant Writing for Schools” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Middle Creek Community Center, 123 Middle Creek Park Ave., Apex. Parents and school staff will learn about the process of grant writing and how to write a successful grant application. Registration is required. Are You Ready to Start Your Own Business

A public information session titled, “Are You Ready to Start Your Own Business?” will be at 7 p.m. at the West Regional Library, 4000 Louis Stephens Drive, Cary. Speakers Deborah Oronzio and Jim Joyce will introduce skills and traits that are important for successful entrepreneurs and will lead self assessments of those skills with participants. The Cary Town Band will perform their show titled, “Yesterdays Remembered” at 7:30 p.m. at the Cary Arts Center, 101 Dry Ave. Samuel Hazo’s “Our Yesterdays Lengthen Like Shadows” was the inspiration for the theme and a featured work of this concert.

Morrisville Fall 5K and Fun Run

Morrisville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources will partner with BeActive North Carolina to hold the Fall 5K and Fun Run at 8:30 a.m. beginning at the Cedar Fork Community Center, 1050 B Town Hall Drive.
