Games of the week

With Southwest Wake Athletic Conference basketball play coming into full swing for all teams, co-defending conference champ Middle Creek and Apex boys basketball teams headline the Tuesday lineup.

Tuesday

Boys basketball: Riverside at Cary; Middle Creek at Apex; Fuquay-Varina at Holly Springs; Athens Drive at Panther Creek

Girls basketball: Cary at Riverside; Apex at Middle Creek; Holly Springs at Fuquay-Varina; Panther Creek at Athens Drive

Swimming: Holly Springs, Athens Drive, Broughton and Southeast Raleigh at Triangle Aquatic Center. Middle Creek, Knightdale, Garner and Wake Forest at N.C. State.

Overtime points

• Cary Academy’s Rebekah Banks recorded a triple-double Tuesday at St. Mary’s. A UNC-Wilmington recruit, she had 24 points, 24 rebounds and 10 blocks.

• Cary’s swim teams finished runner-up to Enloe in Thursday’s quad-meet with Heritage and East Wake.

• Holly Springs’ boys swim team was third behind Broughton and Knightdale in Tuesday’s swim meet while its girls team was second.

• The Athens Drive boys swim team was third and Middle Creek was fourth in a Tuesday meet with first-place Leesville Road and runner-up Jordan. The Athens Drive girls were second behind Leesville, while Middle Creek was third.

• In a Tuesday meet with Millbrook and Corinth Holders, Apex’s boys and girls swim teams each took first and Cardinal Gibbons was second in both.

• Cary Academy’s swim teams swept Cary Christian on Thursday. The Chargers won all 11 girls events and nine in the boys competition.
