Academics: 4.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale with extra credit for advanced courses.

Athletics: Averaging 11.1 points and 10.6 rebounds per game in basketball. Four-year varsity player in basketball and a projected three-year starter in lacrosse.

Ideal guest list: Maya Angelou, Oprah Winfrey, Julius Erving

Fascinated to learn: “That you can project someone’s height by measuring the circumference of their skull and multiplying by three.”

Most impactful book: “’As I Lay Dying’ (by William Faulkner) is having a big impact on my life right now. We are reading it in school and it is very demanding and takes a lot of time, which I don’t have. It stretches your mind and thought process.”

Person with the biggest impact on my life: “My mother, Sherry Howard.”

College aspiration: “Duke is my dream school. I hope to study neuroscience and psychology and eventually go to medical school.”

How do you lead: “By example. If I ask someone to do something, I know I need to be willing to do it myself. If I try to tell someone how to do something, I need to make sure I know how to do it.”

Most important U.S. document: “The Constitution. It holds our Bill of Rights and everything that allows us to have the freedoms we have in America and to lead our lives.”

Cherish: My family (father Vincent Howard, mother, brothers Jason Moore and Vincent Howard Jr.)
