Apex student earns Eagle Scout rank

Chris Miller, a senior at Apex High School and the son of Greg and Margaret Miller of Apex, earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievement in Boy Scouting. For his project, he led scouts, troop leaders and volunteers to build a sound garden for preschoolers at Christ the King Lutheran Church. A ceremony for his achievement will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at the church, 600 Walnut St., Cary.

Cary Girl Scout earns Gold Award

Asha Reddy, a student at Athens Drive High School and the daughter of Ravi and Sreedevi Reddy, earned the Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouting. For her project, she volunteered at OM Poly Clinic, PHC Ammanallur Hospital and Bangalore Baptist Hospital in India to promote vaccinations in rural communities.
