APEX — Residents are invited to share input about the Apex Police Department, which is seeking national accreditation.
The public can weigh in during a session at 6 p.m. Monday, April 14, at Town Hall, 73 Hunter St., Apex.
The police department wants to be recognized by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, also known as CALEA. Accreditation designates an adherence to professional standards and best practices.
As part of the assessment process, CALEA officials will begin examining the department’s policies, procedures and operations on Sunday.
Residents who want to share their input but can’t attend the meeting can call 919-249-1140 between 1-3 p.m. on Monday.
