Apex resident begins missionary service

Joshua Knutson of Apex began two years of missionary service in the Xalapa, Mexico mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Knutson, a graduate of Panther Creek High School, is the son of Monte and Kathleen Knutson of Apex and Victoria Knutson of Cary.

Holly Springs scouts earn Arrow of Light

Eight Cub Scouts from Holly Springs earned the Arrow of Light, the highest achievement in Cub Scouting. They are Davis Chastain, Zach Howard, Andrew Nielson, Dylan Purvis, Oliver Roth, Drew Sheldon, Wes Sowell and Jack Waterman. After earning their awards, the boys joined Boy Scout troops.

Holly Springs student competes in pageant

Chloe Massoth of Holly Springs was chosen to participate as a state finalist in the National American Miss North Carolina Pageant in June in Winston-Salem. Chloe is a student at Holly Ridge Middle School.

Fuquay-Varina information officer completes course

Susan Weis, public information officer for the town of Fuquay-Varina, finished the Municipal Administration Course of the School of Government at UNC-Chapel Hill. The 150-hour course for managers, department heads and officials covered local government law, organization, management, budgeting, employment laws, planning and regulation of development.
