Cary Girl Scout earns Silver Award

Xena Gray of Cary, a member of Girl Scout Troop 15 led by Candi King, Christine Schoaff and Haley Gray, earned the Silver Award, the second highest achievement in Girl Scouting. Xena built a climbing tree and bed for Maggie, a bobcat at the Carolina Tiger Rescue. She is the daughter of Haley and Richard Gray.

Cary and Morrisville Girl Scouts earn Silver Awards

Kathleen Hunnicutt of Cary and Rachel Simmons of Morrisville, members of Girl Scout Troop 15, worked together to earn their Silver Awards. Kathleen and Rachel made dresses for children with Dress a Girl Around the World. They hosted a party to sew dresses and taught participants to sew. Kathleen is the daughter of Angela and Don Hunnicutt. Rachel is the daughter of Elizabeth and David Simmons.

Holly Springs team competes in First LEGO League

The Weather Whiskers First LEGO League team from Holly Springs will compete in the national competition from Friday, May 16, to Sunday, May 18, in California. The robotics team’s project for the theme Nature’s Fury will teach pet owners about evacuation during a hurricane.
