Holly Springs senior midfielder Dominique Babbitt was voted Southwest Wake Athletic Conference player of the year by the league’s coaches. Babbitt, a senior and South Carolina recruit, had eight goals and an SWAC-high 20 assists.

The coach of the year honor went to David Grant of conference champion Panther Creek. Grant guided the Catamounts to the 4A title game, where they lost in sudden-death overtime 1-0.

Panther Creek (23-1-1) placed four juniors on the all-conference list, including midfielder Courtney Cash (8 goals, 8 assists), goalkeeper Celeste Barnard (15 shutouts) and defender Rachael Everhart on the first team. Defender/midfielder Briana Velasquez made second team.

SWAC runner-up Fuquay-Varina (11-6) placed five underclassmen all-conference players, including junior Rebekah Furr, sophomore Megan Greene on first team and sophomore Kelly Suggs and juniors Maura Coolbaugh and Katie Cockerill on second team.

In addition to Babbitt, Holly Springs (14-5-2) also placed junior forward Kirsten Bootes (SWAC-high 23 goals, 6 assists) on first team and K.J. Vollrath (15 goals, 3 assists) on second team.

Athens Drive (10-10) had senior Riley Nociti (14 goals, 4 assists) on first team, while junior Allie Chason (10 goals, 6 assists) and sophomore Daria Draovitch made second team.

Green Hope (8-10-2) senior forward Kenley Sigmon made first team while freshman Bailey Petersen and junior midfielder Kaylin Lang made second team.

Middle Creek (5-10-3) senior Katie Weisner made first team and junior Abby Coffey made second team.

Apex (3-12-2), which finished seventh, had senior Katie Wight on the first team and sophomore Maddie Uenking on the second team.

Cary (4-13-1) junior Kyra Kandel was the Imps’ only first-team selection while Allison Weatherspoon made second-team.
