Police seek suspect in Holly Springs shooting

— Police are looking for a man accused of shooting a McDonald’s employee who tried to flee after being kidnapped in a robbery attempt.

The suspect confronted the unidentified woman at her Raleigh home about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to a spokesman for Holly Springs. The suspect is accused of forcing the woman, who was not identified, to go to the McDonald’s restaurant in Holly Springs where she works.

The restaurant was closed, and the woman drove off when the suspect got out of the car, according to a news release. The woman was shot, and she drove herself to a hospital where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a short, thin black man who was wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt, black gloves, dark pants and a dark cover over his face.
